The Wet Plate Collodion Room – “Hands Portraits”
A collaborative project by Gianluca Bonomo & Gianni Cusumano – Sicily | London – 2025-2026.
I have recently been exploring a unique photographic technique dating back to the late 19th century, called Wet Plate Collodion. After initial testing, Gianni, an expert in this technique, and I chose to explore an unconventional approach to portraiture: ‘Hand Portraits’. Our aim was to capture the profound expressivity within the shapes, textures, and poses of the human hand.
